Don’t Let Your Website Be Marked as “Not Secure”

SECURITY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2018

All types of website: business, freelance, creative, agency or blogger will need SSL.

Unless you want Google telling visitors that your website is NOT secure, then you must have a security certificate.

From July 2018, Google Chrome will display a warning message on HTTP web sites with any type of form as “Not Secure”.

To secure a website (HTTPS), a security certificate must be installed.

Google Updates

Avoiding the Not Secure Warning in Chrome

As announced in September 2016, Chrome will soon mark non-secure pages containing password and credit card input fields as Not Secure in the URL bar.

Long term – Use HTTPS everywhere

Eventually, Chrome will show a Not Secure warning for “all pages” served over HTTP, regardless of whether or not the page contains sensitive input fields. Even if you adopt one of the more targeted resolutions above, you should plan to migrate your site to use HTTPS for all pages.

Another reason you need SSL

Don’t Risk Your Search Ranking

Search engines give better search ranking results to websites that are encrypted with an officially recognized SSL Certificate.
