A new Toontown called Toontown Rewritten is being launched on September 19, 2014 – 2:00 PM Toontown Time (PST – USA Time).
It is an independent production not connected with Disney, although we hear it has Disney’s blessing and best wishes.
A group of former Toontown Online players have created Toontown Rewritten, which they describe as “a fan-made revival of Disney’s Toontown Online, created using publicly available downloads and information made freely available to the general public.
Toontown Rewritten is scheduled to be in Open Beta on September 19, 2014, exactly one year after Toontown Online’s closure
Once suspects there may be server issues given its past popularity. If Disney couldn’t make a go of it, what chance has anyone else, but we will be supporting it as best we can.
