CyberCities - No ads. Offers 1 free web page and 1 free email address, which allows upto 25 mb of email storage.

Fortune City - 20 mb, advert, communities, 'watches' for illegal activity

GeoCities - You get 11 mb, your choice of a POP e-mail account or forwarding address, ftp access, easy page editor, and subdirectories. Pop up, top of page advert(optional) and a little logo that stays on the screen no matter what!! It has some useful authoring tools and a community setting

Site Promote - With Site Promote you receive 5mb of space, Browser based administration, unlimited data transfer, 3 pre-installed cgi scripts, Web Board, Mailing List program, and Guestbook. Plus NO Advertising on members pages.

The Cozy Cabin - They offer 20 Mb of free web space in return for placing ads on your pages.

Tripod.com - Another well-established service. Very speedy server, 11 megs, ftp access, subdirectories, EZ page builder, tilde in member URL. The only drawback would be the pop-up ads.
